I have a new service business and I'm trying to keep a customer database with every call I get.

I just record basic info - name / number / email / address and what-not. I keep it in Numbers.

But there are sections where I need to key on somewhat lengthy notes (when they want to book / what bikes they want to ride / what routes or type of routes they may want)

Then credit card info if they book and a list of other stuff like referral sources, etc.

This is where using Excel or Numbers sucks (long text fields).

Do you know of any software that is setup for scheduling bookings and customer info like this?

I'm about to look on MacUpdate to see what I can find. I just hate using a spreadsheet for this - there has to be a better way.

That's what databases are for... consider Bento or FileMaker Pro.

Abusing spreadsheets as databases is depressingly common. At least you had the smarts to recognize the abuse.

You're talking about CRM software.

Best is probably Marketcircle's Daylite. You could also look at Contactizer Pro.
