hi! The new Grid view (and CoverFlow) look great in iTunes/iPhone, but there's a "bug" that's annoying me: the sort by album option lists every album listed in my library, even if there's only one song from that album. It kind of defeat the purpose of quickly browse by album, in my opinion. I have nearly 2000 songs, but only very few complete (or at least almost complete) albums. It's really cumbersome to skip thru thousands of files when all I want to do is to listen to albums (like the analogy of browsing thru your CD collection). Is there a way to accomplish this?

A feature I'd also like to see is the ability to make iTunes treat playlists as albums, so I could quickly browse my playlists via the CoverFlow interface. After all, I mainly create playlists so I can burn them on CD to listen in my car, so they become, in fact, an album.

I don't get it. If you don't want to see every album... You want to browse by artist..

I like both these ideas, FireWire. As someone with a ton of singles and partial albums, Coverflow has always been useless to me.

Then create a playlist with those and you can view them in whatever view you want to.

I give all the full albums and EPs in my library the grouping 'Album', and browse them within a smart playlist. I wish iTunes would include a field to specify album type - LP/EP/Single/Compilation/-non-album-/etc...

Not sure if there is a good way to automatically determine if something is a "complete" album. What would the computer use? # of Tracks? If so, how many? You will need to use the Comments field to designate this. And then create a playlist that looks for whatever value you choose to denote a "complete" album.

One method would be to check for songs 1 to n of n songs.

No entry in the track number thread, or a track missing from the total number --> off into a playlist.

This ought to be doable with AppleScript, right?
