Spell check has stopped working. At first I thought it was just in my mail app but I just tried TextEdit and it doesn't work there either. I have see a couple of other posts on other lists about this and they seem to be all from the past couple of weeks so now I am wondering if the problem might have something to do with an Apple update?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

If you think it's the latest Apple update (or even if you don't but it stopped working around the time you updated), you should download the combo updater and install that. It often fixes problems caused by unknown update failures or failed incremental updates. The 10.5.5 combo updater is found here, but that will work only if you are running Leopard. Let us know if you are running something else.

What does "stop working" mean? You hit Show Spelling and Grammar and what happens?

Well, I zapped the pram and then ran TechTool. After that, spell check was working.
Thanks for the input.

If this problem comes up for someone in the future, I would tell them to try the four chimes holding down [apple option P R] and see if that doesn't work.
