For copying your wedding video and making back-ups of the DVDs you own you can use Mac The Ripper.

For burning what you copied, the easiest thing is to use Toast Titanium, burns both regular and DL DVDs. Costs 71$ at amazon. Drag and drop ease of use.

(I know you already own it. This is for other, newer users of this forum).

I'll vouch for Toast Titanium. It's worth every penny if you're going to want to make CD's and DVD's in virtually any, (and from any), format, even if only on occasion.

Toast Titanium is great for burning DVD's - it will also compress the video if you only have a single layer burner.

As it is legal for me to back up owned CD's and DVD's here in Canada (for now), I use a free app called MacTheRipper. Once that does its job I then use Toast to burn the TS folder to DVD.

note: this is illegal practice in many countries.

There are two programs you can choose from for making backup copies of your DVDs:

Mac the Ripper
Handbrake

Then use your copy of Toast to burn them to DVDs.

On the legality: It is not illegal to make a backup copy of your DVD movie, however, it is illegal to circumvent the encryption. So there really is no way around it. In the extremely unlikely event the FBI busts down your door while you're copying your movie to your computer, there's absolutely no way of enforcing the law.
