I'm still a bit wary of free music sites, so I'm hesitant to download anything like plug-ins.

Maybe some of you have done this, and know what this is.

I get this message upon accessing spiralfrog:

The site won't work on the Mac, and I'm willing to bet that it's because they're actually using DRM-protected Windows Media Audio, for which there IS NO CODEC on the Mac platform.

Stay the hell away from spiralfrog.

edit: oh, you wanted to download files, not stream them. favtape only streams music, but it is good at what it does.

Thanks for the warning, and for the replies.

This is actually a good theme for a thread.

I'm not looking for downloads, as I prefer "full resolution" music files, but to explore for new musicians/music.
