Help. I'm having problems importing certain cd's into iTunes on my 10.5.5 Macbook Pro. I get an error message saying I don't have access priveleges. It only happens when importing certain disks, for example, Nirvana Nevermind. When I called Apple they dismissed the problem as copywrite protection. However Nirvana Nevermind will import fine on other Macs with iTunes. Furthermore this problem has occurred when I tried to import a jazz double cd set where one disk imported fine then the other did not! I tried a workaround of importing Nirvana Nevermind on another mac using mp3 (not aac) and then tried to then import into my iTunes. Still rejected! I've checked and double checked my user permissions and all is set to read/write. I also set it to apply to all subfolders but nothing works. I also just verified Parental Controls has never been turned on so that's not it. One thing I can think of - my account name (which is an admin account) and user name are named differently. Is this ok? Do I need to maybe reinstall iTunes? Leopard? Do I need to take this back to the store? I have 15 days left on my 1 yr warranty. Anything else I can check? Thanks!

Problem solved! I went into the store and the genius reset my privileges, not just for the iTunes library but my whole account. Apparently iTunes needs to access folders outside it's own library. This fixed the cd importing problem I was having.

BTW, I had also been experiencing problems with some of my friend's AAC songs not working on my macbook. It turned out to the be the fact that some of the artist folders on the disc my friend made me had somehow become "locked" at some point. By going through and unlocking select folders on the cd, I was then able to get everything to import fine. Hope this helps someone else who runs into this problem.
