Hello,

I'm trying to print some .pdf's with the Preview app but it's awfully slow (sends the data to the printer but the printer takes ages to do so -- and it's not the document itself, it prints quickly from a PC). One reason why this could be the case is that Preview might print the documents as image, resulting in large amounts of data send to the printer. There is such an option in Acrobat Reader -- is there a function in Preview to disable "print as image" (I'm not sure if this is really the case, just a guess).

I think it would be more useful to look at your printer setup. What printer are you using, what drive (OS built in or downloaded) and which OS? What kind of connection: USB or network? Preview should not print anything slowly. Try deleting and re-adding the printer in the Printer prefs.
