Does anyone know if Dropbox is capable of syncing package files on OS X (Leopard 10.5.5), such as an iPhoto Library, or a DEVONthink Pro Office database?

Will any changes I make within a DEVONthink database to a specific document, for example, result in Dropbox needing to re-sync the entire database? ...or will it be capable of just singling out the one document within the database that has changed, and syncing just that single changed document to my other machines?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Dropbox supports block-level transfers.
If you change 20 KB of a 20 GB file you’ll only have to transfer ~20 KB.

Another thing that many people might not know about dropbox is that it hashes every file and compares it to others already stored in its common database. If it finds a match it’ll just send a reference to the original file to your account. This all happens behind the scene of course.

So for example if a person already uploaded the 4.4GB file “debian-40r5-i386-DVD-1.iso” and you try to store the _exact_ same file in your dropbox, the 4.4GB upload will appear to be instant when actually no data (except the file hash) is transmitted.
