My old Sage iMac died last year and I could not afford a mac untill now. So I bought a PC laptop and later got a job that requires heavy use of a scanner. I am using a Canon MP600 and was using GScan2PDF in Ubuntu.

THAT PROGRAM ROCKS for scanning.

So now I am back in my beloved OSX environment and I am having a bit of an issue finding scan software that even comes close to matching it.

Anyone got any good suggestions?

It looks like there aren't any OS X builds, and the list of dependencies is quite long so compiling on your own would be a pain... Are you on an Intel Mac? You could run Ubuntu in a VM or natively. I haven't used it much, but VirtualBox is free.

I was trying to avoid any kind of virtuialisation running and do everything in OSX. But it is a thought.

Any more ideas?

Since I have never heard of that app before: What features are you looking for, and what scanning apps have you tried?

WellI have tried Vuescan, doe snot seem really good actrually from all that I heard about it. I do not need alot of features, something tht will allow me to make a multiple page pdf and do some cropping of pages within would be great. Cannon has scangear and that would not work unless I fired up vuescan for some reason. It was not a very good design and was clunky to use. Single page scans even when you chose multi page scans.
