I teach in a computer lab and sometime icons get moved or stuff will get left on the desktop.

Does anyone know of a script that would reset the desktop on each log in? Everyone logs on to the computer as student.

Thanks.

How about a template Desktop and a login hook to clear out the old Desktop and replace it with your template?

All they have now on the desktop is the hard drive, they aren't suppose to save anything there, sometimes pic's get dragged their from the net. The doc is standard, but sometimes they pull a icon off there by mistake. I would like each login to bring them back to a clean desktop and doc.

How would I accomplish what you stated?

Thanks.

Well, if you're using 10.5 on the machines, you could just enable the guest account and let them use that. Everytime they logout, the account is cleared of everything and reset so that the next time, it's back to the default settings.
