G5/dual 1.8 running 10.5.5 and having major problems with Safari for the last week.
Getting ready to do a routine backup, so I ran DiskWarrior (as startup), then Disk Utility from other hard drive in the G5 for permissions repair.
I got the following both times I ran Disk Utility ---
"Warning: SUID file "Sysyem/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/OwnerGroupTool" has been modified and will not be repaired.
I haven't seen that before. What does that mean? Does it need to be fixed? How do I go about fixing it?
Thanks,

Repair Permissions just doesn't to set the setuid bit on a binary that has changed since the original installation. It was probably just modified by a software update. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

This is but one of several ways Leopard's permissions repair gets it wrong. (more >here<)

In your case (or, if anyone enjoys repairing permissions and wants it to report accurately
then), running the 10.5.5 Combo Update will probably get things back in sync. Basically...
some delta updates don't seem to be properly updating the info in /Library/Receipts/boms
so Disk Utility thinks there's a problem (when it shouldn't).
