FYI -- if you're runnning PGP Desktop 9.8 under OSX Leopard and do today's big OSX update to 10.5.6 be advised it will crash Apple Mail whenever you try to open a message to read it. (I am running PGP 9.8.3)

To get Mail to work again, you need to remove the PGPmailLeopard.mailbundle from /Library/Mail/Bundles and Apple Mail works just fine again.....but of course, that means plug-in capability for PGP is gone from Mail.

Just a FYI. If anyone here from PGP is reading this, kindly issue a supported fix. Thanks. Also, this is the first time in a LONG time an OS update has broken something on my end. Boo, Apple.

It's not Apple's fault. The developer and his users are using an undocumented API at their own risk.

I refer to PGP (commercial s/w) not GPG. But you're right, GPG is running unsupported API as well.

There was an issue between Apple's recently released Mac OS X 10.5.6 update and PGP Corporation's email encryption plug-in. While this plug-in is officially "unsupported" and is documented as such, PGP Corporation has fixed the issue and made an updated version of the plug-in available.

While this plug-in will retain its "unsupported" status, we recognize that in certain circumstances it serves a need; for information regarding this issue and the updated plug-in, please visit: https://pgp.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/pgp...p?p_faqid=1097

Hey John! Welcome to our forums! I'm glad to see the PGP Corp took this seriously enough to update an "unsupported" but well used plug in.

John, thank you for this information. I am happy that PGP was able to provide this update to us, and for responding to our concerns here.

Thanks again

Rick
