I'm looking for an application that allows the finder to mount ftp but allow "read/write". Standard finder will only allow for "read". This is the closest application that does this http://macfusionapp.org/ but could not get it to work.

I also tried MacFuse. Not sure how to use it other than using the finder, connect to server. Still only allowed read rights only.

Any other suggestions.

I use Transmit and ya, it's great, but I like the idea of being able to mount as a drive/volume

MacFuse with MacFusion works for me. Are you authenticating with the FTP server to be able to upload?

MacFusion requires MacFUSE to work. Download and install MacFUSE first, then download and install MacFusion.

While you're at it, might as well download the NTFS-3G plugin for MacFUSE. That will give you read/write capabilities for NTFS volumes.

Also, if you're connecting via SFTP (SSH) and it says you don't have authorization to create & copy files and folders, you need to add the following option to your Advanced Options:

-o defer_permissions

I thought I'd mention that you don't need iWeb 09 to gain the ability to publish direction to an FTP, you can do that already with iWeb 08 and MacFUSE + MacFusion. Mount your FTP to the desktop, then just "Publish to a folder..." You're all set.

1. What version of Mac OS X are you using?

2. What does "could not get it to work" mean? Did it not start up? Could it not connect to the server? Was the interface too confusing?
