Mail not allowing me to create 'To Do' items

	One of my computers (relatively new iMac) is not allowing me to create 'To Do' items from within Mail. This is a feature I use regularly, and this is frustrating me. When I click 'To Do' ✔ in a mail message, it creates the yellow band at the top of the message, but without any text. My other Macs do not have this problem, and this Mac used not to, either. Any ideas how to fix? thanks
