I recently downloaded the "Noise Industries Units" , but I am at a loss to understand where or in which folder I ought put them ?
It appears to be one of those types of Application/plugins that aren't accompanied with a read me file !

Both of these:
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20971
http://www.noiseindustries.com/products/ (bottom left)
come with a file on the disk image pretty clearly labeled "Important Information.rtf".
Double clicking that reveals the following text:
System Requirements
• Mac OS X version 10.5 or later.
• Mac computer with PowerPC or Intel processor.
Installation
To install the Noise Industries Core Image Units, please drag the “Noise Industries Units” plug-in to one of the following locations:
/Library/Graphics/Image Units/
or
<your home folder>/Library/Graphics/Image Units/
If there are no “Graphics” and/or “Image Units” folders inside “Library”, create them as needed to replicate the folder structure above.
Once the plug-in is installed, the Core Image Units will be available in all Core Image-aware applications.

You might want to download off one of those links again - I'd assume the version on their homepage is the latest one...?
