I am wanting to backup my DVD collection because I bring movies to work and sometimes they drop and get scratched. Is there a good program to do this?

Yes. A combination of free products does this well.

This has been discussed repeatedly and extensively.

Use the Search function at the top of this page.

I use MacTheRipper (free) and Roxio Popcorn ($50)

Popcorn can shrink Dual Layer DVDs to fit onto single layer DVD-Rs.

I'm sure other folks might have different suggestions but these two apps work flawlessly for me.

Yep, I do. As for the ripping. I use MTR as well. For post processing D-Tox is very difficult to beat. I think it's better than Popcorn too.

Which version? What kind of source are you trying to convert?
