Fetch 4.0.3, OS X 10.4.11

been trying to upload Zen Cart and it has taken well over an hour because Fetch keeps hanging unpredictably, so I really have to babysit the FTP process. This sucks.

Is this indicative of an issue with my computer, with my hosting provider, or is there a better way to do large FTP sessions?

Thx in adv

I didn't know Fetch existed for post-System 7 computers...

Just kidding, I knew there was an OS X version, but it is very old. I'd suggest something else like Cyberduck or Transmit. I think they all have free trials at least. If your problem goes away, then you know it was the software. If not, then I'm not sure.

Open the log window during the upload and monitor it to see if it is throwing any error messages.

I also prefer to use Cyberduck for FTP transfers. It's a free program and works very well for my needs.

Fetch 4.0.3 works fine for me in Leopard. I don't see what makes the younger FTP apps any better than Fetch, which is a universal binary and has been updated for Leopard in version 5, btw.

You are using an outdated version.

I have Fetch 5.2.1 and it never gives me a problem.

But, that said, are you sure it's not your internet provider or your modem or your router that's at fault (upload speed, connection quality, interruptions with a bad router, etc.)

I thought it would be worth a shot to try a different client, but you're right. It's probably a connection issue.
