Whenever a quicktime video loads (or is supposed to load) in my web browser, it doesn't play within my web browser. It only plays OUTSIDE of the web browser. How do I get the video to play within the web browser?
PS: quicktime videos used to play within my web browser (firefox) but no longer does so. I must have changed the preferences accidentally either in firefox or quicktime, but looking and changing around some of the preferences in both still will not allow me to play quicktime within the browser itself. Thanks in advance for your help

Have you looked in Firefox's Preferences > Applications settings to see what is set up for that file type? If it is set to use the plugin, I would expect that to play within Firefox's window.

Thank you for your reply. When I open up firefox-preferences-applications, I have set pretty much every video file to use either quicktime or flip4mac. For wmv files, I set it to use the wmv player. But, even after setting it up this way, it still uses quicktime player outside the web browser to play the file. Very confusing and a bit annoying.

As long as you can play the video, does it matter that much? I have found Firefox 3 to be pretty good at managing files.

I believe I have isolated the problem. Quicktime files and flash files play WITHIN the browser. Only wmv files play outside the browser. (quicktime uses flip4mac outside the browser to play the video). It is a bit irritating since i can't save the file if the wmv file plays outside the browser. Firefox does allow me to save the file if it plays WITHIN the browser. So yes that's why it concerns me.
