I am using iMovie to capture some video and have an 1/8" cable going into the input of my Macbook Pro for sound. The sound does get recorded, but i can't hear it while the video is recording. The "through" option is disabled in the Audio/Midi app and i can't find any preference for it in iMovie. How can i listen to the input on the mac while recording video? Thanks.

Perhaps with the iSight, iMovie prevents this to avoid feedback.

I'm sure you are right. When you are using the audio input though, i'm hoping there is a way around it.

Get the awesome freeware "LineIn" from Rogue Amoeba. So useful.
