Safari is suddenly loading all pages (no matter what web site) very slow. If I click on stop then click on reload, the page will load normally.

I tried pinging a few sites and ironically www.macnn.com was the only one that worked. All others had 100% packet loss.

Email (using Mail) seems to be ok.

Macbook Air 1.8 SSD (10.5.6) via u-Verse wireless broadband.

So what's up with that?

www.opendns.com

Use their DNS servers and see if it helps.

Give that man a ceegarrr!!!!

Thanks

Why does this work as opposed to the uVerse ones? And why does opendsn.com provide this service? What's the benefit on their end?

OpenDNS will redirect a bad URL to a page with possible matches -- some of which are paid matchs/ads. So I guess that's their play.

Many ISPs have bad to barely tolerable DNS servers. It sounds like yours were acting up. Often different or good servers (many of us on the boards recommend OpenDNS) will fix problems like yours.

Mine was too previously. I don't know why it stopped working properly but opendns works for me.
