This may have been covered before...but man, iCal is really hard on the eyes compared to my other Apple applications. Those colored ovals look like trash. Anybody else feel the same, and are there any fixes for it?

No, I disagree.

I think iCal looks fine, and if you wish you can change the color of our appointments. My home calendar is blue, my work is red and my wife's is green.

I suppose if you are so against the look of the application, I recommend using another product.

Just make all your calendars gray if you like that better.
