When I open .wmv files in QT, I get the above message every time, and it's really annoying

Is there a way around this, I prefer to open in QT as I prefer the viewer.

I do not get the error message whilst opening mpg or flv files.

To answer my own question, if I default wmv files to open in wmv player, the files open in QT, but I still would like an answer to the message.

I'm confused about your description of flip4mac. It's installed as a Quicktime plugin. When you open a WMV it'll open in Quicktime. There's no separate interface.

I amended post to remove flip4mac ref as it was a bit confusing, after you read it but before you posted reply, I prefer to view .wmv files in QT (wmv player) rather than Windows Media Player, or RealPlayer for .wmv files

Now I've selected wmv player (part of flip4mac) as default I don't get the message.

It was confusing at first for me because Sys Prefs only shows flip4mac, whereas Information shows wmv player and not flip4mac.

You can also play .flv files with VLC.
