I am finally getting an iPhone OS device (8 GB iPod Touch; yay!), so I've started scavenging the app store, starting with the free apps. One free app I want (WootWatch, though I'm sure that doesn't matter) must have screwed up somehow when I tried downloading it. It does not appear in the Applications library and Spotlight can't find anything by that name. So when I try to re-download the app, iTunes tells me I've already downloaded it and must select "Check for available downloads" from the Store menu. Well, since WootWatch isn't in my list of apps, I can't check for an available download for it!
Has anybody seen this and have any ideas? WootWatch just seems like it's "stuck."

Why not try and download the app from the iPod itself?

I don't have my Touch yet. I'm downloading apps in preparation for when I get it.

Ha, I just downloaded a bunch of apps for a Touch that hasn't arrived, last night.

Ah, odds are you'll have no issue downloading it on the iPod when it arrives.

I also had problems a couple of times with updating free apps. I either couldn't update them on the iPod Touch even though the new version was shown as available, or there was no update shown while checking for updates in iTunes. I contacted AppStore support and they said it's the responsibility of the app developer and advised to contact them directly. When I contacted the developer they said the update for the app is setup correctly and to contact AppStore. After a few days/attampts to update it went through successfully. Just keep trying.
