Is there a way to find out which files in my iTunes library are protected?
I've downloaded so many songs over the years. I keep getting these .30 cent upgrade notifications from apple. Can i sort it like i would sort by artist or album? I would like to sort by protected songs. or just find them.

You could create a Smart Playlist and in Kind put Protected AAC audio file.

Purchased is not (necessarily) Protected.

Protected means that the file has Fairplay DRM applied to it. Purchased means that it is just a plain, vanilla file with no DRM. You can transfer purchased files anywhere as many times as you like. DRM'ed files are restricted to 5 machines and "authorised" iPods/iPhones.
