this might be difficult to describe correctly:

in Excel '08 the 'fuction' bar if thats waht its called, ie the bar that has the typing that you type in each selected cell, is floating above the main page

I havent used thiss in a while an it used to be on the 'main page window'

when I move the window from screen to screen it stays where it is above the window and I have to move it also

is there any way to get it back above the main selection of cells?

where all the other 'tools' are

many thanks

Just drag the function bar to the upper-left corner of the screen. It will automatically "pin" itself there. Try it and you'll see what I mean.

If you are talking about moving between Spaces, well, Office really sucks with Spaces. Go to the View menu, turn off, then turn back on the function bar to bring it along without dragging.

Steve is right. That toolbar is actually draggable and it will fasten itself once it is placed on the right spot. You may inadvertently clicked on a function that resulted to that.

well its actually not the toolbar if thats the "new" "open" "save" stuff thats at the top of the window

below that are the tools you can add to etc mine has the Font/size, then fine updown dotts, then bold, italics, underline. ...

its usually in the past been in this same series. the edit cell typing floats and disappears when you move to another wimdow while the window itself dims.

wish I knew how to add a pic to this thread ..

thanks anyway
