There is a new program out by ActyMac called DutyWatch that silently monitors all activities on your Mac, including taking up to 100 snapshots an hour, using your iSight, full keystroke logging, etc. As a key executive in a growing company, I don't want the possibility of someone on the IT staff installing this type of software on any of the Executive Staff computers (actually, on any computer without our express approval). This basically provides anyone on an IT staff to gather whatever intelligence they want on any individual -- without their knowledge or consent. I want a way to monitor if this type of software is installed without our knowledge or consent. From my point of view, I consider this sanctioned spyware and it has more chance to do damage than it does to do any good.
It looks like the program installs into \System\Library\LaunchDaemons a key logger and into \Library\LaunchAgents a key notifier.
What utilities are available that I can run when logging into my account to ensure that these services are NOT loaded? Is there anything that will provide an inventory of the programs associated with these directories?
Inputs would be appreciated. -- Thanks!
