am doing a project for a friend (non-commercial); copying dance sequences from dvds thru elgato's eyetv hybrid to a macbook; what's the best format to encode to? i want to create about 2 hours of files, join them together (either in quicktime of imovie..?) then burn to a dvd that will play in any dvd player...

any suggestions? thanx!

Question: You say you are copying from DVDs and I'm guessing these DVDs are not in DVD-video format or they would play directly in a DVD player. If that is the case, what is the format of the files burned on the DVD? Couldn't you just copy the files over from these DVDs instead of losing quality through an eyeTV import (DVD=digital, eyeTV=analog, then back to digital on your computer)?
