Hi All,

I'm having a bit of trouble with X11. Basically my keyboard has been remapped and I have no idea as to how to go about fixing it. I'm not sure if this is the *cause*, but I didn't realize the issue until after updating to 10.5.7.

Any ideas?

Best.

Not sure I understand, but remapped in OS X? Then go to System Preferences and then either International or Keyboard & Mouse and pick whichever keyboard you'd like. Note that there's a keyboard shortcut that you can enable to switch, Command-Option-spacebar. Spotlight is Command-Spacebar and Option is just next to Command, so if you have the shortcut enabled, you might trigger it by mistake.

No, only X11...in X11 terminal, and X11/Wine-based apps.

Try starting X11 manually by invoking it from the command line with the correct keymapping:

/Applications/X11.app/Content/MacOS/X11 -keymap keymapname.keymapping

where keymapname is your preferred language (e.g. English).

Nope, still broken. I'll just list a few of the mapped keys and see if anyone knows what might have occurred. I will list in KEY=VALUE format:

q = '-'
w = '='
e = BACKSPACE
r = NOT SURE
t = 'w'
y = 'q'

z = 5
x = 6
c = 7
v = 8
b = 0
n = 'x'
m = 'c'

DELETE = ','

I experienced exactly the same problem after updating to OS 10.5.7.
I reinstalled X11 and the problem is gone.

That fixed it. Much appreciated!

Still wish I knew what actually occurred, ya know?
