Real beginner iMac question. How do I open and install a program? Get an icon to the doc and all the other things that are completely new to a years old PC use. (I'm no spring chicken either. LOL)
Thanks and thank again for all of ya'll help. I"m the only one I know that has a mac. Everyone I know is still bound to virus programs and freezes.

Welcome to our forums and the Mac. You've made a great choice. New things can be confusing.

Check out this how-to guide for information on installing OS X applications.

You may also want to visit Apple - Find Out How - Mac Basics for more detailed information on certain items.

Thanks Cold Warrior. After dealing with windows for years I can't believe it's that easy. I've bought 4 or 5 books now on this system but haven't had tine to do much reading. ( none of the 'for dummies' books) Thanks for the help. Glad I found this forum.
