My dad works at a small museum and they have started a project to catalog their inventory using Bento. He has been trying to send his database to his friend who also has Bento, but it doesn't seem to work. He tells me that he can send the template and the data, but not pictures. I've never used Bento, so I'm not really sure what he's talking about or why he can't just copy the database to the other fellow. Can anyone familiar with Bento fill me in here so I can help him out?

Thanks,
kman

Which version is that one?, was it Bento 1.0 then there are some things you need to work. Templates and Libraries are stored in one data file - bento.bentodb - which is located here:

your Home folder -> Library folder -> Application Support -> Bento folder

You can copy such stuff to another Mac, but be advised that all of your data will be included. You may not like that.

Another option is to use the Backup command (File menu) to back up all of your data, which could then be used on another Mac running Bento, BUT it will erase all of the existing data.

I don't know how Bento 2 could have improved sharing stuff, I am still running 1.0v2 (a.k.a. multilingual).
