I am new to Mac and would like to ask for help in finding a good id3 tag editor for Mac. I would like to find one that allows renameing MP3s' ID3 attributes (i.e. song titles, track #) based on the file name. And I would like to be able to do this in batch.

I did some online search and there is one simply known as "ID3 editor v.1.12.xx.xx" However I would like to know if this is the best (or even the only one) out there for OSX.

I need this program because my MP3 collection created in Windows environment has quite a few font problem after they were migrated over to my new Mac.

For you information I am using OS X Leopard on a MPB 2009 15".

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Joe

itunes? put the songs in itunes, select the group you want, open the editor (command-I), and edit...

There are a few CLI id3 editors, I use one called id3ed. You could easily run a for loop on a directory and pass an argument to change the song's name/artist/album based on file name.

something like

Code:
for i in *.mp3;do id3ed -s $i;done
If you wanted to strip out the .mp3 file extension you could parse it out by including an awk statement in this line, or perl -e.
