Switched to Verizon FIOS yesterday. Overall it's great, but I found I can rarely connect to Mobile Me email via either mail.app or on my touch.

(everything else is fine, including back to my mac)

I am not using their router, just an AEBS directly into the ONT. All other services work fine. I'm wondering if it is an SSL/IMAP issue.

Anyone else on FIOS using .mac/Mobile Me ?

What's an ONT?

Perhaps FIOS DNS is flakey. Have you tried OpenDNS instead? My PS3 can't connect to any sites using the RoadRunner DNS, so I have to use OpenDNS for it to work for some reason. Otherwise I didn't have a problem with RoadRunner DNS (at least not after the recent upgrades to the neighborhood). Perhaps there's a similar issue with MobileMe on FIOS.

Optical Network Terminal... to oversimplify, it converts the optical/fiber in to ethernet over cat5/6 or coax.
I basically mentioned that so it would be clear it's not an issue with a router. (They usually give you an Actiontec router of somewhat questionable quality, which many seem to hate). I was able to use my existing Airport Extreme, so it's not a local router issue.

I see. What do you think of my DNS suggestion?

I already switched it to OpenDNS as they hijack your 404 pages, which I hate.
Tried it with both the Verizon and OpenDNS servers.
It's hit and miss..mostly miss.
