Is it me or is Safari sucking the memory out my computer? On Activity Monitor it's showing that it's using 425MB of real memory. And I re-launched yesterday!
And please don't mention "personal memory" 'cause that's never been fully explained to me, here.
Again! Switching browser sounds like the smart thing to do. But damn, I'm tired of switching..

Why are you worried? Are you low on memory? If you really want to be annoyed, see how much virtual memory your computer's using...

Well my 'lil' Macbook (see signature) is maxed out where RAM is concerned. As far as virtual memory Safari's using 1.85 Gigs of virtual mem.

unless it's an actual problem instead of just a number, don't worry about it.

If it really is a 1.83 C2D, you can actually put 3GB in there.

Safari has always had this problem. It doesn't like to release memory. Camino and the new Firefox (3.5) are the only browsers I have seen that release it. For instance, open a bunch of tabs or windows and then start closing them. You'll see that Camino and FF drop their real memory usage. Safari likes to hover around 200-300MB on my machines. It doesn't often go over that, but once it gets up there it doesn't go down either. Still, I use Safari as my default browser.

What I was getting at was if you're running out of memory then you have a problem, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.
