Safari 4.0.2 has been beachballing like crazy lately. It seems to happen the most when I'm scrolling, or typing in the URL bar, search bar, or any other form. It's occurring to both my iMac and my new MacBook Pro. I've tried resetting Safari, clearing the cache, etc. Any other ideas? Or is this a problem that a lot of people are experiencing that we'll have to wait for Apple to fix. I love Safari, but I'm going to have to use Firefox until I can figure out a solution.

Safari 4.0.1 cause me no end of problems... crashing about 10 times a day! I must admit 4.0.2 seems better but i do get beach balls sometime if i click a search box or something!

Never had any problems with previous safari versions... this one sucks in comparison!

I had just switched back to Safari (from FF) for the 4.0 beta because I was getting annoying mini-freezes in FF (pauses in scrolling; paused page loads). But then I was getting the beachballs in beta and in 4.0.1 just like you. No amount of cache emptying, history removing, or stopping the remembering of passwords fixed it. I haven't installed 4.0.2 yet (rebooting my machine is just such a pain), but now I'm heading back into the FF camp again.
