Hi I've tried searching the world with no joy so I would be grateful for any advice.
I do not have a .mac account or a mobileme account. So the advice from apple to change preferences on these will not work.

What seems to be happening is syncservices either starts with booting the iMac 24 2.8Ghz Core 2 Duo or comes on by itself (I think this is linked to Mail but not sure as it also seems to start randomly on some webpages) The first clue is the hard drive starts to chatter as SS grabs more and more RAM and of course every other app comes to a grinding halt. Opening Activity Monitor and shutting SS instantly fixes the problem temporarily until SS starts again. Apple have dire warnings about deleting the offending item and I'm not wild about doing a full install unless all else fails. Any answers or indeed further questions anyone? Please.....

Thanks
