After a restart of Safari 4.0.2 under OSX 10.4.11 suddenly the colors of every website are displayed (very) differently than before. And let me say, only for comparison purposes, FireFox 3.0.12 does it still right.

For better understanding you can see here

a screenshot of the same website opened simultaneously with Safari on the right and with FireFox on the left.

So, what is the problem here? Who does have a clue how I can fix this?

Things, that did not work so far
restart of computer
repair of disk permissions
fresh installation of Safari
"Force Repaint" from the enabled Safari Debug Menue
deleting PR-Ram

Uhm, is it also possible that Safari didn't change, but FireFox got brighter ?

No, that is absolutely not possible. Before that websites in Safari were exactly the same as in Firefox now. And when I start from my one week old backuped system Safari does not show this color thing at all.

System Preferences->Displays->Colour

Turn on "Show profiles for this display only" and then select an appropriate one. Log out and see whether that fixes your Safari colour problem.

Safari (unlike FireFox without plugins) color management to display web pages. Probably your ColorSync settings are borked. Rebooting, zapping PRAM and such won't help one bit, though.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
