Here's the deal:

I am going off to school, leaving behind a Mac Pro. On this Mac Pro are the family's iTunes and iPhoto libraries. I am going to do a drag copy to send those to my new 15 inch UMBP. That is not the real issue (I will have to figure out some way to keep my library on the laptop up to date, but whatever). My brother just got an iPod Touch - I've had one for a while - and when he plugs it in to the Mac Pro and thus the existing iTunes library, it insists on adding all of my Applications, Email Accounts, Addresses, etc to his iPod. I'm not sure this is a solvable problem. But I have this concept in my head I want to test out.

Currently, I have one user account on the Mac Pro (mine). I just created an account called Family, which will be the "main" account when I am gone.

How can I make iTunes and iPhoto happy across these accounts, with the goal of syncing multiple iPod touches without this conflict, and having them use the same resources? Perhaps two separate XML files pointing to the same resource folder?

Or is there a better way to accomplish this?

Thanks.

One iTunes library to one iPod.
It's a one-to-one relationship.
You can't synch multiple iPods to the same library.

You can sync as many iPods to a single library as you wish. It's the iPod that knows which playlists it's looking for.
