A friend is selling me his FCP (box manuals and everything) and I wanted to know if there's a way to check if it was register, since he also bought it second hand. Is there a place where I can check the serial number and make sure it's not registred?

Depending on the country, you can even transfer registered software. In the German (EU?), you can sell used software and transfer the registration as long as it has not been bought as download (e. g. all shrink-wrapped boxes are just fine). Not sure about your country.
