I tried to set up to publish a calendar so my wife and I can keep it up to date with out work schedules. I followed all the instructions from both iCal's help and Google, but when I select the iCal calendar ("Work") and choose "Calendar|Publish," I get an error that says
"Publish failed for calendar “Work”
Calendar https://username@www.google.com/calendar/dav/username@google.COM/user/Work.ics could not be found.
(Of course I've changed this to hide my real user name.)I have indeed uploaded that file to Google Calendar and it shows up in my calendar.
What am I doing wrong here?

If you are using Google's CalDAV server you don't have to publish your calendar. What instructions are you following?

In other words, I just have to upload the calendar? That would be much easier...
I've tried exporting calendars and sending them back and forth, but that leads to duplicate entries and is not as effective as just manually entering new events. I simply want to be able to make changes to my calendar in one place and have them show up a) on my iPhone, b) in iCal and c) where my wife can see them and maybe add them to her iCal. Am I seeing this as more complex than it is?
The instructions I used are here, titled "Get Started with CalDAV" for iCal, and the instructions in iCal's help.

You don't have to upload anything. By defining your Google account info into your iCal prefs you are defining the storage location of your calendar on Google's servers. All your wife would have to do is setup this same account information in her copy of iCal or another CalDAV compatible client, or alternatively, her own Google CalDAV account if you have setup delegation.

Much simpler than I'd thought. It seems to be syncing my calendars now, at least for me, and when my wife gets home we'll look at hers. Thanks for the help.
