Any ideas for Free OS X Data Recovery Software? Had a look around and not much luck. Found all kinds of free trials but so far looks like there is not really any well known ones out there that are free.

Tks,

I just asked if anyone had an idea of any free data recovery Mac apps. Had a look around yesterday and could not find any. How was that spam?

It wasn't your post that was considered spam, it was the one following yours. You know, new user posting a link to free software.

Spambots will carpet bomb spam; other times they'll look for keywords to post in on-topic threads, probably in the hope that it goes unnoticed.

Nothing to see here.

With something like data recovery software, you want "good" rather than "free" imo.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

I'd second, and even third that. "Free" may not be "careful," if you know what I mean. Careful is MUCH gooderer than cheap!
