Well, I have a website. But the site that I have doesn't have enough traffic flowing through it for what I"m paying. So I'm thinking of getting MobileMe.

I don't need a fancy website layout, something simple so I can direct people to go to my site, and download some files.

I'm a composer so I need people to hear samples. Does MobileMe have a website function like this?

Hello OnTheKeys, the easiest way todo this is to use iWeb which you can easily create a site & upload it to your MobileMe page.
Within iWeb you can simple add sound files, pics & movies by clicking on the Media button bottom right. It's easy to create simple themes too or you can make your own Apple - iWeb - Create your own website on a Mac. The peachpit is quite old.

iWeb's Media window will show Audio Photos Movies clicking on Audio will give you a list from the Music folder in your user account so any music you create or files must be in a folder within Music>Garage Band, iTunes, Your Music clicking on the ▸ will show all files within a folder.

Just drag the song file out to your iWeb page then click on inspector to give you control over how it should appear by selecting QuickTime icon you can show hide the controls adjust play length loop by checking check-boxes I've forgotten how to make an empty place holder "No image" but when you select to hide controls the image or word when double clicked will play the song.
