Hi there,

what's the best alternative to Visual Hub. I loved Visual Hub but unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. I would like to convert all kinds of formats from flv to iphone compatible versions etc. Visual Hub have been the best tool for that.

ffmepgx is ****. I don't like it. What're your recommendation?

Handbrake.

And although I didn't try it yet, QuickTime X Player should be able to convert from FLV to iPhone with Perian installed.

Thanks for reply. As I see HandBrake is no longer limited to DVDs only. Excellent.

Temporarily, I am going to stick with Perian. Conversion worked really good.

I have found that using perian/QT on flv's causes the audio to be out of sync often..make sure you check that. Handbreak works well for that.

I am still using visualhub under 10.6.0 - I agree it was the BEST.

Does 10.6.1 break it for good? The only change I found was under Leopard you could drag items to the dock icon of visualhub, in snow leopard, you need to launch visualhub and drag to the VH window. Still works fine so far for me.

That being said, I have been investigating alternatives for the day when it no longer works, and have settled on Handbrake.

The new "add to itunes" folder that came with iTunes 9 should add the functionality that VH had as far as automatically adding the newly processed files to itunes. I will have the finished files saved to that folder after Handbrake processes them.

Looking for a VisualHub & AudialHub download link?

I was very sad to see Techspansion close its doors but I wish Tyler Loch all the best in his future.
As a previous customer I was very disappointed to see that links to the software that I had paid for was no longer available.
Here comes the problem - I had a hard drive crash and needed to install all my purchased software on a new drive but when it came to Visualhub and Audialhub, I had no way of installing the software because the link was gone forever. I had no backup either - silly me.
I searched and searched for months to find an archived file of the latest release of both VisualHub and AudialHub together with the Extras Installers with the ffmpeg and compression/decompression codecs that were also once available on Techspansion's website - not any more. I thought I had done my money on software I wouldn't be able to use anymore, until one fine evening I stumbled across this website almost by accident.

geekmeetsgirl.net Visualhub Tools

I thought it couldn't be for real so I downloaded the links and there it was - complete software installers with the extras installers. I had hit the mother load. Eureka I shouted amongst other expletives. I installed the software and entered my authentic (purchased) serial number and it worked. I am so glad I purchased a copy of both of these pieces of software as it was money well spent. I only hope that other loyal customers that have experienced the same problems will breathe a sigh of relief now that you can reinstall your purchased software once again.

I have to thank the owner of geekmeetsgirl.net as you are the answer to my VisualHub & AudialHub prayers. Thanks
