Hoping someone has some ideas on this one. On my home computer (a mac) I can listen to radio margaritaville stream in the radio section (under folk in itunes 8 & under Island/Reggae in itunes 9). At work (on a windows PC), I cannot listen to it. I can click the stream & it acts like it is going to start, but it just sits there showing the time as 0:00.

Work is not blocking the stream as I can listen to radio margaritaville from their website & I can also use any of the other radio streams that I click on. It only seems to be that one stream in itunes. Also, from my home computer, it shows the stream as 40 kbps, but at work it is listed as 64kbps. Not sure if that means anything, but this is the only difference I could see.

Thanks in advance for any advice you might have,

I'm not sure if the streams in iTunes use different ports.

Maybe, by coincidence, that station is using a port that's blocked by your company firewall, whereas other stations that do work use a port that's open.

The website streaming will go (most likely) via port 80.

It may just be that some setting on the network where you work is blocking that particular stream, too. I'd check with the IT folks to find out if 1) it's allowed to listen to Internet Radio at work and 2) if there's something they're doing that intentionally stops some streams.

Thanks guys! That must be what it is. I'm not really a windows user, so it was maddening trying to figure out what was going on. Makes sense that different streams might use different ports. I'll just keep using the stream from the web page. It's one more step but it works.

Thanks again,
