I have some videos of old technical presentations that we transferred onto 3 DVDs.
Now, for allowing us to text search for specific content, I am having them transcribed.
Is there any way to get DVD Player to play a DVD *slowly* (but not silently)?
Or can you recommend other (cheap) software that would let me play a DVD slowly?

Play the movie through VLC. You can then speed up and slow down playback of DVDs.
