I was wondering if there was any particular reason about my iSight not working with the Rosetta Stone software; went to the developer's website just to read this:

The iSight Microphone will not work with Rosetta Stone due to its video capabilities.

Sigh. { beats head against wall }

So I have the most beautiful webcam ever made and such an expensive piece of software renders it useless… To make things worse, the iSight is indeed listed by Rosetta Stone as available microphone, I guess the software is just rubbing salt in the wound cause you can't pass the mic. configuration test.

Does anybody know about a fix for this mess?, I would prefer not having to buy another piece of hardware.

When I though I might have found a workaround as I recovered the microphone that came with the old Blue & White Apple CRT display… and it doesn't work with the Mac Pro, neither does with the MDD G4, it just happens to work with the Yosemite G3 Power Mac. Albeit I have near to zero knowledge when it comes to this kind of audio stuff, I find it slightly silly, the audio input couldn't be more standard… or am I mistaken?.

Pick up a $30 Logitech headset. Much better quality and the microphone near your face will help with Rosetta Stone.
