We are purchasing extra licenses and I need to image a Mac lab and I was wondering if anyone knows if Adobe After Effects CS 3 still has the self detecting license? For example, our labs each have 30 Macs and we have 18 seats/licenses and if AE self detects then once 18 are in use the 19th and on will just not run the application as long as it detects on the network that there are 18 in use. This would be great so that I can image the entire lab rather than just 18 and have two images.

Not if you have volume licenses. Also, you need to have concurrency licenses to be doing what you're planning. Lastly, you need to get Sassafras KeyServer to enforce your licenses then you don't have to worry about this.
