I misspelled an email address and saved it in Entourage. Now I can't delete it! It is still present at some hidden level. I've deleted all the records from the Address Book and yet when I key in the correct address, the mistaken address still comes up automatically, preventing me from sending the person email. How can I delete ALL records so I can input the correct information from the start into my Address Book?

1. Open Entourage Preferences.
2. Select Compose in the list on the left side.
3. Click Clear List button.

Be advised that this will delete the entire list of recently used email addresses. Unfortunately, there is no way to get rid of just one entry.

Thank you OAW. This way out would be too inconvenient unless there is some way of seeing the list of recently used addresses, so that I know which addresses will be deleted. Or, say, after a vacation, using only the mistaken email first then going through the procedure you outline. Would that delete only the offending email, I wonder?

I'm not sure if the "recently used list" has a time limit on it. Worth a shot I suppose. Having said that, most people I email with regularly I have in my Address Book. So even if I clear the recently used list I still have the email addresses of everybody that's "important". Anything I lose is an email address I didn't have a need to keep anyway.

Ah! Now I understand. I thought your procedure would also remove data from the Address Book. I went ahead and followed your advice and now have the correct email address.
Many thanks.
