A .bat (batch) file is a DOS scripting program.
You need MS-DOS or Windows to run it.

.bat files are scripts and they don't work on other operating systems but only on Windows. You can make some of them run with additional software, but since you mention you want to play a game, let me tell you that you need a Mac version of the game (unless it's some simple flash game or so).

Boxer is for running games in a dosbox, a sort of compability environment. What you need is to run the actual Java game in the Java Runtime Environment. Try to find a file with a name ending in .jar that looks like a document with a cup of coffee on it. Doubleclick on that and see if that works.
Alternatively, open that .bat with a text editor to see what it does exactly.

Read those other threads, but basically you have to open that file client in the Java Runtime.
