Using two different Macintosh Laptops, one MacBook2,1, and one MacBookPro4,5 I am unable to use the Home Sharing function within iTunes itself. Both laptops are authorized with the same Apple ID account, and have Home Sharing activated, and are connected to the same Wi-Fi internet connection. While loading the other laptop's iTunes' Library, the notice below is given:

The Shared library "[censored]" is not responding. (-3259)
Check that any firewall software running on either the shared computer or this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689.

What could possibly be a way to resolve this problem?

try turning off firewall altogether on both machines, just for testing purposes.
