A friend of mine who is a recent Mac convert recently asked for help burning Flip mp4 video to DVD. I've never used a Flip video camera before so was hoping you guys could help. Here's his email:

I have a flip HD camcorder which records MP4 clips. I want to put them all unedited on to a DVD. With Windows I would drag those files to a DVD and hit Burn.

With Apple, I must be doing something wrong:

I import the clips (wait wait wait) to imovie.
I drag the clips to the project
I export the project to a file (wait wait wait) or share (more wait)
I open IDVD and import the file or use the sharing
I burn it.
This process takes hours with Apple and makes me want to smash my mac. How do you do a quick DVD?

why export to a file? Just choose iDVD from the iMovie Share menu.

Or import in iMovie, then use iDVD's Magic DVD option (tutorial video here) to create it.

Sounds like a data DVD to me. Do the same on the Mac. What you're describing above is making a video DVD.
